Withernsea dog-friendly beach, East Yorkshire
Description
When you see these 'road closed' signs, it's mainly due to erosion of the cliffs - so take them seriously! The beach here is dog-friendly and there's also a big green area of scampering space between the car park and the beach. Popular with local dog-walkers.
Details
GPS coords for car park: 53.7384, 0.0248 If the car park is closed, then it is on-street parking. Restrictions to parts of the beach near the town, but we couldn't see exactly where they started. Tesco and Aldi supermarkets in the town.
Walk
Tide permitting, you can walk along the beach for a fair way and spot the remains of World War 2 defences too. Bunkers still remain, although the North Sea is making them less easy to recognise as time goes on.
