We must have just gone at the wrong time of day. The water was at it's lowest and there was only really mud for a dog to play in. Good visitor centre at Wirral Country Park (where the car park is) but dogs have to be on lead all around there. Country park would be good for a picnick if your dog is happy to stay on lead. Might be worth a look if you are passing but don't make a special trip unless you check the tides. Co-ordinates for satnav/GPS users is 53.342444, -3.144338
