Swanage country park dog walk, Dorset
Description
This is a glorious place to visit, with 280 acres of space including meadows, woodland and sea cliffs. The views are outstanding and what could be better than breathing in the sea air whilst walking in such wonderful surroundings.
Details
WC+disabled. Cafe with designated dog tables. Drinks and snacks are also available from the shop. Picnic tables. Shop sells useful tourist information, like walking books and maps. P&D car park: Summer and Winter rates. Improvements to the paths have just started (Dec 2019) and some exciting geological walkways have been made already.
Walk
This is a beautiful place to walk and there are four clearly waymarked trails starting from the Visitor Centre. If you want to create your own walk, then there are plenty of paths crossing the country park to explore and its all too easy to just follow the long distance South West Coast Path for miles as you enjoy the wonderful sea views. And there's a castle, which we missed entirely. Information leaflets are available from the Visitor Centre.
