Splendidly dog-friendly pub near Barnard Castle, County Durham
Description
I'd like to commend the Rose & Crown , Romaldkirk near Barnard's Castle (of recent fame) for it's unusual level of dog friendliness. It has a Dog's hall of fame on its website which is really endearing. The food here is memorably excellent and B Castle (locally called Barnie) is a lovely small town well with a visit. Nearby is Bowes village, Dickens stayed in Barnie whilst researching one of his novels in the area. (recommended by DwD member StevieB)
