Walk
You'll see signs for a walk to the Castle. Avoid this as dogs aren't allowed in to the ruins and this isn't a good thing to find out after climbing up the hill on a hot day! For a perfect walk, park in the Malwyn Way car park by the tennis/football club at the edge of the town. Take the path at the back of the car park and after 10 minutes of strolling you'll reach a T-junction of paths. Turn right and then pass a cricket ground on the left. Keep going for just under a mile and you'll reach another track. This is Offas Dyke, and also the border between Wales and England. We turned around here for a 45 minute leg stretch, but you can easily carry on for longer. For longer walks check out the downloadable trails leaflets from the Dragon hotel website https://www.montgomery-wales.co.uk/tour/trails.html
