Roseberry Topping dog walk, North Yorkshire
Description
One of the most celebrated views in, and over, Yorkshire - definitely worth the uphill haul to get there on a clear day.
Details
GPS coords for car park: 54.5074, -1.1207 WCs are handily located in the car park. There were no parking charges on the day we were there, but it may be that this becomes a nice little earner in the summer! The Kings Head (01642 722318) is nicely placed for good quality meals and refreshments on the way back down. Dogs on leads are welcome in the bar and there's dog-friendly accommodation too.
Walk
From the car park, follow the well-trodden route to the top of the Topping. If you then continue past the trig point down the other side and up into and past the woodland the track carries on to Great Ayton Moor. It's paved in places and is marked with yellow waymarkers. To avoid road walking, ramble here awhile and then return to the car park the way you came. Most people only go as far as the Topping, so beyond that there is plenty of space for dog romping.
