Roadford Lake dog walk, Devon
PremiumDescription
A peaceful reservoir, with clean and tidy facilities and a fully accessible path along the waterside. It's a handy place to know about if you're on the A30 and the traffic builds up after Okehampton.

It is a shame that dogs have to be on leads but as the focus of the lake is conservation it makes sense. There is a tiny fenced area in the car park near the cafe for dogs to go off lead - hardly anything for our springer but because it's scrubby/ woody she had mad fun for a bit and was then calmer for her longer lead walk. Great little cafe (and little shop for collection of Cornish / Devon books and gifts). Looked like a good playground for kids and well marked east access paths all around.

lovely place but . . . . .
Roadford Lake is great for a walk around the lake and the meals are good but it's a great shame you have to keep your dog on a lead.
