Moors Valley Country Park dog walks, Dorset
Description
Beautiful countryside location with plenty for all the family to enjoy for a whole day, and large enough for long quiet walks. Very popular with local dog walkers, a run around at this 150 acre country park will keep even the most energetic canine happy and content.
Details
WC+disabled, restaurant, visitors centre, shop, bicycle hire, dog poo bins on forest trails. P&D car park: charges vary throughout the year. Free for disabled drivers whose vehicles are road tax exempt. There is also a model railway which runs from May to September, school holidays and weekends.
Walk
The country park has over 20 miles of waymarked trails to follow, let alone unmarked tracks, so there's plenty to explore here. The waymarked paths are clearly colour coded. The Play Trail has a range of wooden play equipment for youngsters to try out. There is a short Lake and Riverside Walk. The Nature Trail is 2 miles long and there is a 5 miles signed walk through the forest. Leaflets for all walks are available from the visitor centre. For dog walking, the best walks are either the Lake and Riverside Walk, or the 5 mile forest walk. All the other signed paths seem to come into contact with the adjacent golf course. Many of the paths are flat and well maintained and are accessible for wheelchair users
