M6 Junction 13 dog walk with refreshments, Staffordshire
PremiumDescription
This is a delightfully rural canal side walk, even though the roar of the traffic on the M6 motorway is never far away. After the walk, enjoy a pot of tea in the well-manicured parkland surroundings of the hotel, where the friendly and helpful staff extend a warm welcome to all.

We stopped and walked our dogs on a big field beside the hotel. They thoroughly enjoyed running around a welcome break from the boot of the car. Had a lovely lunch food delicious and dogs are allowed in the bar area (where floor is tiled). Village is beautiful too. All in all perfect for a stop.

Pink 163 PointsThis was a lovely canal side walk with lots to see. We turned left and got to bridge 90 and back to the pub in 50 minutes. We then had a refreshing drink at the pub and our dog sat with us outside. Really easy to get back onto the motorway.

Green 37 Pointslovely walk with amazing gardens on the opposite side leading down to the canal, Holly loved it although she kept trying to get in the canal for a swim!! A little upset to see quite a bit of dog poop along the path though. Walked down to bridge "94" and then returned.

Drinks and a field to play ball
We parked in the Moat House hotel but didn’t walk along the canal. Instead, we went into a fenced off field just off the car park. Plenty of space to run around.
The hotel has a bar (facing the hotel, don’t go into reception but use the entrance further along, to the right) which is dog friendly and is open from 9am. There is even a jar of doggy treats on the bar.
Plenty of outdoor seating too, if the weather is good enough.
