This can be either a beach walk, or a trail through the adjacent nature reserve. The beach itself is large and generally deserted, and there is also a path - running parallel to the lane - which stretches for miles.
There is also plenty of space in the nature reserve, and you may be able to spot the site of a motte and bailey castle, or the remains of Thomas a Becket's Priory, or even a Neolithic barrow.

Quiet long stretch of beach
This was great for our dog, plenty of sandy stretches for running around. It was also very quiet with mostly just dog walkers on it. Plenty of driftwood around for stick throwing. Just beware the sinking mud!
