M4 Junction 15 Lakeside Walk, Wiltshire
PremiumDescription
This is a fine all-weather walk on a hard surface path around the lake, with easy access for buggies and wheelchair users. Look out for the utterly terrifying diving board, and marvel at the bravery of local divers.

Green 145 PointsSun Inn & Coates Water Country Park
We stayed overnight in the Sun Inn which is extremely dog friendly there were about 5 other dogs in the bar with us. Good quality rooms available and usual selection of pub food. The back of the car park leads directly to the country park which is ideal for an off lead walk (be aware there are lots of access points to the lake )
Very convenient for the M4

Green 30 PointsCoates Water Park
I followed the postcode but this took me to a newly developed housing estate. However I was able to walk through the estate and found some open access fields. I then discovered the back of the Water Park. This is a good place to exercise dogs - excellent space and good routes round the lake. If you ignore the postcode and follow the Coates Water Park you will end up in a paid car park. Not sure if costs as I didn’t use it having walked through the housing estate. I would pay though - good space, cafe and toilets.
Thanks for this - we've updated the details to include the GPS and What3Words for the car park.

This stop worked out perfectly- I checked with the Sun Inn in advance and they serve breakfast from 7-11. I arrived at 9:30 half way to my destination In Pembrokeshire. The staff were amazing, very helpful & definitely dog friendly. The pub has lots of areas & space in the car park, indoors & outdoors. The car park leads directly onto the county park. I did a brisk lap of the water which took 40mins. If you don’t want to visit the pub the country park does have car parks & toilets

Green 63 PointsLovely lakeside and woodland walk
Great stop on route to Devon for us and our two Springer Spaniels, cup of tea followed by a beautiful walk around the lake and through some lovely woodland. Note the car park is now £1 for 2 hours.

Coats Water Walk
Entrance has height restriction bar but gate was open so no problem with my motor home getting in to car park. Lovely lake to walk round.
