Green 62 PointsExcellent all weather walk
We did this walk on a February day in the rain and it was still delightful. The Star pub has everything a dog family could wish for and the Common is well maintained and stunningly beautiful. Our dog, Tuesday, got thoroughly muddy, leapt around in the bracken, discovered molehills, and is now curled up utterly content in the car as we continue our journey.

Welcoming
Definitely a pub that welcomes dogs, even ones that have rolled in something on the common! The service was a little slow but we were there at the tail end of a sunny Sunday lunch session and they did apologise for the wait. We will be going again. Ashtead Common is virtually opposite and is a wooded dog walking heaven. Cows are grazing in some areas but these are clearly signed, just keep your hound away from the cowpats!
