M1 Junction 35 dog walk with large garden centre, South Yorkshire
PremiumDescription
Much more than 'just' a garden centre, this is 16 acres of absolute pleasure - and not just for garden enthusiasts. We were thrilled to find that dogs are so well provided for here (after popping in to look for some plants). The centre takes in the walled kitchen garden, and the Japanese and Italian gardens of the Estate and these have been preserved as heritage features which form part of a lovely walk from the nursery complex. There's a hound bounding field next to the car park where dogs can let off steam before going into the garden centre. Tip: avoid this doggiestop at busy times.

This is a wonderful place for a walk but you do have to keep your dog on a lead. The walk passes Wentworth Woodhouse a massive country house/stately home (now in private hands) that supposedly has the biggest frontage of any other house. The park land and fishing lakes are lovely. The garden centre is EXTREMELY busy but excellent
