M1 Junction 15 dog walk and dog-friendly pub, Northamptonshire
PremiumDescription
To get a real feel for a traditional canal-side pub (but much cleaner!) this is the one to head for. Incredibly the pub has been run by the same family for over 150 years, which must be a record. While you're in the village, there's a Canal Museum.

A perfect dog walk and lunch stop onred. I imagine it gets very busy in the summer but we were there mid March.
You can take a very pretty walk along the canal and we even incorporated a little woodland walk. The boat Inn was just lovely, very dog friendly throughout and lots of seating. There is an old part to the pub and a newer modern area. We only had wine and a beer with sandwiches but they were delicious and the bread really soft. However, there are lots of interesting things to do and places to eat all around this quaint little area. 👍👍👍

An Excellent Stopover
We stopped at the Boat both ways on a trip to and from East Anglia with our Labrador. The pub is friendly and indeed very dog friendly. The location is excellent with a most pleasant and scenic canal path walk which then can be extended by a circular walk through woodland. On a nice day you can sit outside and watch all the activity on the canal
