Walk
You might spot the footpath signpost right in front of the pub. It goes around the edge of the beer garden and into the field beyond and the River Flit. This is OK for meeting a dog's needs and a bit of a legstretch. However the M1 is a short distance away and if your dog's recall isn't good then an extending lead is a good idea.
If you have a map app and can see the Chiltern Way on it, beware. Water End Lane is a section of the Chiltern Way footpath (believe it or not) and we strongly recommend that you don't try and follow this. It looks great on the map until you realise that after one footbridge over the M1 you then have to walk alongside the motorway, between the road and a high-speed rail line to another bridge, over the railway this time. The path does improve a lot after this and you get to a reclaimed tip site which is nice and grassy. But when there are so many enjoyable walks to choose from on Driving with Dogs there's no need to suffer this!
