Find the perfect dog walk on your journey - Driving with Dogs

M1 Junction 10 dog walk and cafe near Luton, Bedfordshire

Description

Combination of a safe and tranquil park for dog walkers, and a fabulous museum that is a joy for kids of all ages to visit. The cafe and facilities are squeaky lovely too.  This stop works best for two or more people as dogs are banned from inside the facilities.   Dogs aren't allowed in the museum, but the caring curators there do provide dog water bowls for after-walkies rehydration.

Luton Park

We visited last May, very handy place to walk whilst waiting for an Arrival at the airport. Only a very short drive along the dual carriageway to the airport. Park has a huge drawback though, NO DOGS at the facilities, DWD Team - that could be awkward and we're looking for an alternative. It's never a good idea to leave your dog tied up outside.

Height barrier!

Great park, but we nearly got stuck in the car park because the height barrier was open when we went in at al11.00 a.m. but closed when we left half an hour later. Luckily the council workers who had opened it for their truck were still around to let us out. Probably other places to park a campervan, but beware!

Check Sites events beforehand

Stopped off here on May bank holiday. Unfortunately, the site had been used at the weekend for a RadioOne roadshow. So lots of trucks removing stuff from the site and parking very restricted.

As previously reviewer mentioned, Cafe & toilets are not dog friendly, so unless you want to leave yours in the car while you pop in, best avoid. As there were two of us, it wasn’t a problem and there is plenty of space for dogs to stretch their legs. We stopped here again on the way back home a few days later. Still lots of restricted access. NB there is no fuel stop between this site and the M1.
