Walk
Braunstone Park was once the stately surrounding of Braunstone Hall, so if the Leicester post code conjured up images of urban recreation land, think again! There are over 150 acres of land here, in a mix of woodland and meadows. There are also a couple of lakes. The paths are surfaced for accessibility, and there are ramps to the picnic area.
Canine visitors will appreciate the variety of trees, which are a feature of the park and a Tree Trail has been established to point out the more exotic species. We were happy to just wander through the grounds, taking advantage of the space to throw Jem's ball and amble nowhere in particular in delightful surroundings.

Vast open space, lakes, and trees in the city!
Visited Braunstone Park with 4 dogs and they absolutely loved it! Very easy to park (free ) and lots of ways to wander. We spent over an hour here. Apart from the beach, this is the biggest open space my dogs have seen and they could run at top speed after pigeons to their hearts content. Plenty of trees in small woodland groups, and a couple of lakes. Oh, and fitness equipment. Didn’t try that.
