Holmedale Valley dog walk and dog-friendly pub, North Yorkshire
PremiumDescription
The first thing to notice about this village is the enormous village green. And then, lurking beyond the green are the ruins of an old castle. And the resident dogs - lots of them!

Thankyou for this recommendation. A good stop before Scotch corner. The pub is not open at lunch time except on Sunday.

Short walk from the green
After stopping on the Ravensworth Green, we wanted to take our labradoodle for a run off the lead. We walked west along Stonygate Bank, past the end of the green past some houses with the castle on our right. We then turned left and turned up a road that has a small enclosed car park on the corner. At the top you’ll see a public path which we followed. Takes you nicely into some fields and over a river. We met other dog walkers too. Great if you want a 10/15 min walk off lead which is safe.
