Forest park dog walk near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
PremiumDescription
Once a colliery spoil tip, now this is a dog walker delight. The area has been re-developed as a community green space and is popular with dog owners and families. Definitely worth exploring and we found there's much more to the park than we'd realised at first. The dogs loved it here.

Just a few minutes from the M1/A38 junction this place is a delight.
Lots of off lead sniffing through the wooded areas - some of the paths are tarmacced if it's wet and you don't have waterfproof shoes.
Also plenty of places for ball chasing and such like.
The cafe seemed fairly popular but we didn't use it.
Really handy to know it's there and everybody we met - all locals - were very friendly. We'll certainly go again

Perfect pit stop
This is a fabulous place, lots easy walking forest paths, lots of space for off lead runabouts, plenty poop bins and also lots of places with benches plus quite a few interesting sculptures and some lovely views from the top of the hill.
The cafe is very dog friendly cafe, we had a delicious brekkie, they serve great coffee and there are lots of picnic benches outside too. Free parking, clean toilets, and there’s a decent looking play park if you’ve younger children. All in all, a really great place to stop.
