East Runton dog-friendly beach, Norfolk
Description
This is a lovely beach for dogs. With sandstone cliffs on one side and the sea on the other it is a nice safe place to let the dogs off - even those who aren't too keen on returning to the owner - and when the sea is far out there is a lovely expanse of firm sand the dogs just adore to run around on. Thanks to Penny Hudson for adding this beach
Details
GPS coords for car park: 52.9368, 1.2739 There is a P&D car park at the top of the cliff with toilet facilities and close by in East Runton Village are various pubs, fish & chip shop, small supermarket & cafes so food is easily available for the humans!
Walk
To get to the beach go down steps/steepish slope from the car park (dog poo bin at the bottom of the slope) but once on the beach it stretches to Cromer on one side and West Runton on the other. There is usually some beach left at high tide on the run towards Cromer. It is possible to walk along the beach to Cromer and get onto the promenade at Cromer. Some of the beaches at Cromer don't allow dogs between May and September but it is easy enough to get off the beach and onto the promenade before you reach the restricted beaches.
