Full of expectations of a big view over to France, white cliffs and the sea it wasn't to be. The mist had rolled in, cutting off the continent and anything more than a few feet ahead. The visitor centre and the pub were firmly closed and it felt like one of those dystopian films about the end of the world as we know it.
