Do try and make a doggiestop in this little market town. You'll find dog-friendly pubs, dog-friendly B&B, a lovely dog-friendly cafe and bookshop, and a fabulous dog walk with swimming. One of the most hospitable towns ever, and well worth a visit.

Dog-friendly pubs are: the Horse and Jockey, with small car park on opposite side of Station Road. The Banc (LD7 1BW) and the George and Dragon (LD7 1BL), both on Broad Street. Further up Broad Street, the Tower House Gallery (LD7 1AT) is a dog-friendly cafe, as is the Offa's Dyke Centre on West Street (LD7 1EN). Parking in the town car park, and this has public WCs. Closest to the walk is the car park at the Offa's Dyke Centre.

Walk
From the Offa's Dyke Centre (LD7 1EN) head downhill from the car park. You'll pass an outdoor gym on the way. Keep going across a field and you'll soon reach the river. Turn left, and enjoy a gorgeous amble along the river bank. Don't miss the boundary between England and Wales!
