Come here for a bracing walk with the dog and some outstanding food afterwards. Run by a local chef/patron this is something out of the ordinary. Allow time for the walk, and time for a meal to make the most of your visit. Slow travel at its best! Booking essential, even if you just call on the way there.

Walk
Turn left (with your back to the pub) on the main road and then immediately left again and onto Llanquinan Road. Walk with a little stream on your left. Just after the lane forks, take the signed footpath on the right and up a grassy slope. This brings you onto a stretch of wide open downland and there are plenty of paths to choose from. If you head under the power lines keeping to the higher ground you might be able to spot the remains of medieval Llanquinan Castle after around 3/4s of a mile, and near a farm. It seems to be a jumble of overgrowth with bits of stonework sticking out, unless I missed something. Dogs will just love the big open space, and it's the perfect place for a big pawstretch after being cooped up in the car.
