Country Park doggiestop walk near Doncaster, South Yorkshire
PremiumDescription
This is such a relaxing and gentle place to take a break from the A1M, and dogs will love the parkland here. It's a great place for a dog walk. The Hall has recently been restored to its former glory, and is a source of local pride - and Grade 1 listed too. Real architectural eye-candy. The grounds are open to the public, and while you're there don't miss the Shrubbery Walk with its amazing trees - like the Gingko. There are lakes too, and a lot of water birds.

Green 50 PointsLots of open space
Good spot to stop, large open area and lake, plus smaller wooded walks along paths. The park is mainly fenced/walled which feels
safe for the dogs to roam.
You can hear the A1 quite loudly though, if the noise of traffic bothers you.

Green 70 PointsFabulous stop!
Just 5mins from A1(M) on an tedious 9 hr trek (Richmond to Bamburgh) and this was perfect for an energetic springer who needed to let off some steam (as did her adults!). On lead walks around lake/ house and off lead around the back of the car park. Nice open views over to Doncaster.
We had taken a picnic but a cafe and bar were there / open plus decent loos.
Given distance from motorway, facilities and quality of the walkies we'd say it's an excellent stop: our 1st using the Driving with Dogs website - what a wonderfully useful service for doggie owners.

Green 50 PointsGood stop off just off A1 M
Easy to find, well sign posted from A1M. Parking is pay and display - no cash just card but easy to do on the machines. There's a pizza place where we got a nice gluten free pizza on the way to Whitby. Howver, there's also a nice tea room too, with lunches or coffee and cake, we ate there on the way back. Nice parkland walks and play area for children. A good, clean convenient stopping place.

Stopped off on our way to Scotland. Lovely old house and country grounds. Nice big space able to let dog off her lead for a run. Playground for little ones as well as a cuppa. Perfect 30 min stop off

Green 40 PointsLovely stop
Great place to stop. Very close to the motorway and a very lovely walk. There is an area where dogs can be off lead. The cafe served nice tea and cake and there is a small seating area inside where dogs are welcome.
