Bungay castle walk and dog-friendly pub, Suffolk
Description
We saw on the map that Bungay had a castle. So, expecting a ruin surrounded by parkland for Jem's dog walk we decided to take a bit of a town break here and hoped for a dog-friendly place for lunch too.
The Castle itself is dog walk lite, and we think you can see most of the unimpressive castle itself very nicely from the side. Otherwise there's an entry charge to go in, through the Jesters Cafe. We thought this was a bit cheeky and headed for the dog-friendly Fleece Inn instead.
Details
P&D car park in the middle of the one-way system. The Fleece has its own large car park behind the pub.

Walk
Not really much for dogs here, but there is a green space outside the perimeter fencing of the castle. You can reach this by going down the path to the left of Jesters. You'll also find an information board. Many thanks to DwD member Keith who posted a link to "dog-friendly Bungay" with walks. https://www.visitbungay.co.uk/walks/gentle-walks-before-tea-scones/
