Bagworth Heath Woods dog walk, Leicestershire
PremiumDescription
An almost secret woodland and lake with quiet charm, and a great place for a dog walk. At one time this was the Desford Colliery, now there are just a few traces of the former industry - look for the headstocks in the middle of the fishing lake.

Avoid the crowds at Bagworth Heath
What I love about this place is that you can pull up alongside the entrance and your dogs are seconds away from woods, open spaces, hills and lakes. There’s a wide tarmac path that meanders quite a distance, and lots of opportunities to go off in different directions. If you follow this path to its end, you leave Bagworth Heath and enter a different wood, but at some point you’ll have to turn back as it’s not circular, unfortunately. Also wish there was a cafe! If you do meet other people with dogs, they are likely to be off lead.
