Accessible woodland dog walk near Swansea, Wales
Description
An accessible route through atmospheric woodland, and a great way to take in some local history while you walk the dog. It's an accessible path on a former rail track, or there's the option to go off-piste and explore the less used paths within the woods.

The Railway Pub at the car park, nice to sit out in sunny weather. Black Pill Lido at the beach end of the walk has clean public WCs, cafe, snack van and kids play areas. The beach is off-limits to dogs in the summer months so be aware of that. Free parking, use GPS 51.6130255, -4.026035 for the car park as it's hard to spot from the road.
Walk
Start from the car park head down towards the beach, signed for Black Pill. The main path is hard-surfaced and fully accessible for scooters, wheelchairs and buggies. It's a shared path with cyclists so watch out for them. It's a couple of miles down to the beach and there's plenty to look at on the way down. Interpretation boards tell the story of the industry here, as well as nature notes and other nuggets of local interest. You can also take one of the many paths off to the right and enjoy a slower route down with lots for dogs to sniff and a small river to play in.
