A9 Exit 34 Doggiestop near Bessan, France
PremiumDescription
Cactus and succulents enthusiasts will be thrilled at the sheer number of flowering species here, while the less well informed (like me) will start thinking Desperate Dan at the sight of some very large and prickly monsters.
There's more here than you might think though, with a lake off to one side with displays of aquatic plants and also a section for animals of rare-breed animals like Jacob's sheep, and Angora goats and a couple of snorty, hairy things as well - ideal for generating interest from children!
The family who run the Cactus park are clearly passionate about their plants and are massive animal lovers too and, although I thought the entry charge was a bit steep at first, by the end of the visit I'd changed my mind (and am quite sure that nearly all their income goes on the animals!).
