Varetz is a small town where you'll get a feel for typical life in the Limousin region, as it's by no means a tourist destination. Many of the 17th century town houses are painted in the traditional rose-blush red colour.

Walkers, with or without dogs, are well looked after with a number of circular trails starting in the village - and all well signed.
