A7 Exit 26 doggiestop near Mallemort, France
PremiumDescription
The walk here is a favourite for local dog owners, and starts underneath a fascinating old wooden suspension bridge. The first bridge here was constructed in around 1845, and was then rebuilt 4 times after floods washed it away every 4 years or so between 1872 and 1886. The German army later damaged it again in 1940 - so it's a miracle that there's anything left at all. It's the only bridge of its era left standing.
You can't get onto the bridge, but it's nevertheless an extraordinary sight.
