A68 Medieval village with dog-friendly hotel and walks, Northumberland
PremiumDescription
Hailed as one of the prettiest villages in the North, the dog-friendly hotel here has pride of place. It was once the home of the local Abbot until the abbey fell victim to Henry VIII and the stones were upcycled into other buildings. Today it's a pleasure to visit the village, walk the dog down by the river and linger a while in the sun-baked courtyard.
