Fabulously friendly tiny city where you'll feel comfortable walking around with the dog - and it's not so crowded that there's any worry about anyone treading on Toutou's paws.

There's a big Basque community here and maybe this accounts for the great atmosphere - you're likely to find musicians playing in the little squares and some of the small shops are well worth investigating for stylish clothes (men and women's) and unusual souvenirs.

And everywhere is dog-friendly - dogs even get their own loo!
