We didn't think that anyone would want to miss a visit to Europe's finest medieval city - and as a bonus  the ramparts walk is marvellous for dogs.

As a tourist attraction Carcassonne is well known and attracts huge numbers of visitors every year. Its cobbled streets are busy, with restaurants, cafes, chocolatiers, shops for souvenirs - jewellery, toy swords, Carcassone tea-towels and the like, all competing for your euros.
