Walk
If your dogs love water, the chance to rush off the A5 and into the water will be irresistible. More decorous pooches will relish a sip at the edge and a gentle lakeside stroll. This lake is one of the contenders for the final hiding place of the legendary Merlin's sword, Excalibur. Although as the lake is very shallow - generally no more than 3 metres deep - surely someone would have found it by now? Anyway, there are lots of different paths leading up, along, and away from the lake and maps are available. Take care to pick a walk that's suitable for the kit you have with you, as conditions in these mountains can change quickly. There's a mountain rescue centre here for a reason.
