A40 dog walk near Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, Wales
PremiumDescription
Our dogs always get excited a few miles before we get to Halfway, and this is a lovely dog stop with everything to please the travelling hound. Trees, soft grass, a freshwater stream of gurgling clean water tick all the boxes for dogs. For people, you'll find picnic tables and shade. There is a small general stores in the village for snacks.

Monty just loved it here when we stopped off on our long drive to holidays. There were a few other people around but you quickly lost them. An idyllic stream that was so clear I had a paddle as well. If you bear to the left coming out of the carpark you will see a little path leading down to the right that meanders along the stream through some woods which were the perfect antidote to a long hot drive. Definitely going on our list of places to stop on our trips through Wales. Lovely picnic and leg stretch location

A favourite place to stop
We always stop here on our way to see friends in South Wales. Safely off the road with lots of scope for the dogs to have a lead free run. Usually a few cars in the car park (free) but rarely see anyone when we’re walking. Can be muddy in places on the path but you can avoid this by sticking to the main tracks.
