A39 forest dog walk near Truro, Cornwall
Description
Very popular dog walking spot, and a great place for quality dog time. Useful for a safe off-lead dog walk not far away from the A39.
Details
Large forestry commission car park at the entrance to Idless Forest.
Walk
There are broad, well maintained paths through the forest. Some are shared with horse riders, but there's plenty of space to create your own routes. You may stumble upon the remains of an ancient hill fort. Paths by the stream can get really muddy and you'll need wellies in wet weather.

Ok but not the best
If you're in or near Truro it's a good option but not the best in the area.
On the plus side there is ample space for off lead running. It does get busy sometimes and the walk choice is limited to wide service roads going up into the woods or a wet weather muddy walk along the brookside. The latter is pleasant enough, the former also attracts horses and people on horses and sometimes cycles.
