This is one of our favourite stops - with a fabulous forest off-lead walk for the dog, and then just a few miles down the road there's a village with an excellent restaurant and an old abbey to admire as well. If you're planning on a long lunch in the restaurant you'll need to get the timing right and reserve in advance, but they will serve cold drinks as it's also a hotel.
