A26 Aire le Reveillon dog stop between Jct 5 and 6, France
Description
The Aire de Repose that appear every 20km or so - and always have WCs and usually picnic tables - are a real bonus of the French motorway system. This is the first one that many drivers experience and that's why we've added it.
For canine passengers, the quality of these rest places varies greatly. The main problem is that the entire motorway system is encased in mile after mile of high, very secure fencing. So although you may find a rest stop right in the middle of a forest there's no way you can get in there.
The WCs also vary in quality ... and the one here is said to be reliably clean (we were chatting to a French sales rep who is apparently a regular patron; don't ask!).
So this one is recommended for people, and it gets a 1 star rating for dogs.
How to get there
The Aire du Reveillon is on the southbound route of the A26 between junctions 5 and 6.
