A1 Junction 17 dog-friendly pub and dog walk, Northamptonshire
PremiumDescription
A short with the dog to see the site of the castle where Mary Queen of Scots lost her head. It seems a forlorn grassy lump these days but the castle was significant some 400 years ago. The dog won't care about that at all.

My satnav struggled too - if you have trouble you could try putting in the co-ordinates at the top of the directions. Must be really annoying for people who live here!

A pleasant enough there and back walk to stretch the legs and near to the A1M. Useful that the services are so near as we were too early to use the pub facilities..
Fotheringhay village was charming and the Castle history interesting although there's nothing left of it now.
I found it very difficult getting my satnav to recognise the postcode which was frustrating.
