The abbey ruins are closed, in the sense that a fence prevents access to the walls. But dogs won't worry about that because in the space between the fence and the adjacent pasture there is effectively a grassy dog run! Also a couple of benches and a picnic table. So if you have a picnic with you this is a fine spot to take a break and enjoy the birdsong and natural surroundings.
