Gorgeous

Can’t believe there is something so nice so close to the M6. We ate in lovely courtyard garden - inside of the building looks so atmospheric. Food was excellent and staff lovely. We had a quick walk through the graveyard and town to keep our furry friend happy

No joy

Tried to eat here but you had to book in advance. Not always possible when you’re on the road and goes against what their website says. Looked lovely tho.

Great pub!

The pub is lovely, and obviously dog friendly. Be careful when going down. the steps opposite the pub, as mentioned in the description. When they are covered with leaves (as we found the. today) they are very slippery. You can walk down the road a few yards and double back to the same spot to avoid them.

Also, the track for the walk is pretty much diagonally across from you , to the right, at the bottom of the steps. If you walk down the road in front of you, you get to the lake, but it’s private property, owned by an anglers’ club , and they don’t welcome dog walkers.
