Dog-friendly pub near Barry, Wales
Description
In Summer when the sun's shining and the sea is twinkling blue, come here for a dog-friendly drink or meal at a pub which claims to be one of the oldest in Wales. It used to be a smugglers' haunt, standing alone in the middle of nowhere and ready to receive contraband from fishing boats appearing and disappearing again before the customs officials could pounce. Now it's surrounded by houses and a holiday park down the road, but still keeps its quaint thatched roof.
Details
Car park opposite the pub. The pub is close to the estuary and coast path, but you need to negotiate the railway mainline and caravan park to get there and we didn't bother.
