A361 Dog-friendly traditional pub near Barnstaple, Devon
Description
Easy to find and dog-friendly traditional pub just off the A361 near Barnstaple. It's a good place to stop for a meal or snack on your journey without getting embroiled in the town. A bit disappointing that there's no access to the river for dog paddling and a run around, even though the Tarka Trail is close by.
Details
Public car park near the rear of the pub. It look like there's access to a recreation ground behind the houses, but we couldn't see for sure as Openreach had the road up.

Great little pit stop
We quickly stopped for lunch for our 2 dogs and children. Lovely food, good service and a nice garden space to have a rest in on the way to the coast.
