Widemouth dog-friendly beach and dog walk, Cornwall, Cornwall
Great beach, easily accessible and free roaming for dogs!
Such a great beach for the whole family and free dog roaming throughout the year.
When the tides out there’s some great rock pools to explore, great cafe and car park (2021 summer £5 per day) makes it easily accessible with ramp or steps down to the beach.
Black Rock Cafe also has ice cream and coffee pod closer to the beach along with surf board and wetsuit hire.
If you get there early up to around 930 ish you can get a front row parking space which makes unloading your stuff down on to the beach even easier.
We love this beach!
Dog-friendly beach and dog walk near Bude, Cornwall
Quieter beach great for dogs
Need to park away and walk down, but it’s a quieter rocky beach with grassed area and coastal path to walk around.
Very limited facilities, but great if you want somewhere a little quieter!
Summerleaze dog-friendly beach, Cornwall
Such a great beach for dogs, kids and family!
With a river running down the side of the beach to the sea, it’s great for doggy paddling without having to get in the sea. Large beach area, semi man made pool to swim in, and great for surfing.
Dogs need to be on a lead between certain times, but there’s lots of space, big car park, lots of facilities, shops, food outlets, restaurants and pastie shops!
We love it here and you can walk over the downs to the right of the beach which is great for dogs, lots of dog bins, and benches to sit and look out to sea.
Sit on the small area crossing over the river (shallow enough to paddle across) and sit in more peace and quiet - great if your dog doesn’t like being around lots of others!
Great park, lovely gardens & play area, Somerset
Lovely park and gardens
Great for the kids to let off steam, play area, Football pitch and lovely gardens. Dogs need to be on a lead but there’s lots of benches to sit on.
Close to the town to pick up food snd there are toilets if you need them.
Had a walk around here while awaiting access to our accommodation.
A38 dog-friendly pub and river walk near Culmstock, Devon
Lovely pub and walk!
Had already been for a long walk at Wellington memorial but stopped here for a drink.
Big car park, garden area and lovely pub. Didn’t have food but great menu and it was really popular.
The walk starts opposite the pub, great walk to take the dogs, grass area by the river and easy access for kids and dogs to play in it.
Walked along the pathway along the river, there is an in/out gate that would prevent pushchair or wheelchairs passed the initial area but lovely walk with the dogs.
Would be a muddy walk in wet weather though.
Woodland trails for dogs and kids near the M5, Somerset, Somerset
Great place for off lead walks!
Walk through the national trust land up to the memorial, relatively flat and easy to navigate paths.
As you approach the memorial if you take the left hand path there’s additional walking through woodland, this part is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs but it’s a lovely stroll to the monument.

Can get busy, but great walking
We often visit Crickley Hill Country park for dog walking as it’s great in the summer to walk through shaded woodland areas.
Can go on a circular walk, there’s great picnic areas and open spaces for kids to run around.
Parking is chargeable so don’t forget to get your ticket, and there’s a couple of great pubs nearby too.
