A69 Roman Garrison Town - dog-friendly attraction, Northumberland
Great stop for history buffs
We visiting on our way from Sunderland to Stirling. This wasn’t a long stop but something we wanted to explore as we have English Heritage memberships. I learned all about the Corbridge hoard which was so interesting. Hubble was able to walk around the remains of the Roman town with one of us whilst the other spent time in the museum (Hubs is not comfortable in crowds and prefers to be outside so we took turns). Everyone we met was very friendly and seemed to love dogs.
Clumber Park dog walk and cafe, Nottinghamshire
Beautiful stop with the best dog friendly cafe I have ever seen,
We stopped here on the way to Sunderland. The cafe was brilliant and is one of the best dog friendly National Trust cafes we’ve been to. We sat by the lake on deckchairs in the sunshine whilst drinking our coffee and were truly stunned by the beauty of this stop. Hubble enjoyed the walk immensely. Definitely worthwhile for those with National Trust memberships.

Fantastic dog stop
Doggy ice cream and lots of sniffs for Hubble. Good cafe stop for us. Good parking, really lovely walks and way more relaxed than a service station.

Excellent food and lovely pub
Who knew that Driving with dogs could even be useful on an evening out with a friend whilst the dog snoozed at home with its master! I was looking for a lovely country pub in the area with good food and this hit the mark. The food was great and the pub was lovely. It has a great patio area for the summer and we’ll definitely be back with the houndie (who would be welcome on the bar) for some forest walks at some point very soon.
