A quiet spot in the Cambrian Mountains near Newtown where dogs can really have a good leg-stretch and enjoy woodland sniffing too. We quite often picnic here and rarely see anyone else.
Wonderful dog walking here, with a carpet of bluebells in Spring and lots of pretty butterflies too.
The bridge here marks the boundary between England and Wales, and looks as if it's very old indeed. The walk along the river is easy to follow and very pleasant in dry weather.
Genuine, nice and dog-friendly inn with plenty of history behind it. We thought the meals were great value, and definitely recommend their Fish Fridays. Easy to get to from the M6/20 and the A56 too
This is a gem of a dog walk as well as an inspired piece of urban regeneration. The park is linear because it used to be a railway line serving Wigan and Glazebrook.
