Scenic dale dog walk with two dog-friendly pubs, Derbyshire
Fantastic walk! Starts (grid ref SK157664) in meadows, then a 'Lord of the Rings' limestone gorge, then a pleasant riverside track, food available in Over Haddon, then walk back. Wonderful.
Riverside dog walk and dog-friendly pub, Derbyshire
Over Haddon carpark (P&D) is at grid ref SK203664. The gate at Instruction 9 ("at the side of the cattle grid") is marked Meadow Place. The fish sluices at Instruction 6 are very interesting.
Cromford dog-walk and cafe, Derbyshire
Good variety: industrial heritage at the start (grid ref SK300569), then former railway line and woodland. Do visit the Arkwright mill after the walk, and do look out for the pay-and-display machine in the carpark opposite the mill.
Black Rocks dog walk near Cromford, Derbyshire
A good walk, especially the bit on the High Peak Trail. Start from grid reference SK291557. The brown sign says Black Rock Carpark. Look out for the £1 honesty box fixed to the side of the cafe/loos.
Youlgreave dog walk and dog-friendly pub, Derbyshire
This is a good walk with a pleasant variety of undemanding path and filds walking. It is easy to go wrong from the start ("at the bridge in Mawstone Lane") because there are several potential options. Begin from grid reference 214640 and walk West (upstream). Towards the end of the walk it would be useful to know that your direction is nearly always North-East, so having a compass or GPS could be helpful, even on such a short walk. Finally, the parking is not campervan-friendly, as the car park (at the far West end of the village) has a 2m height restriction.

Easy parking behind the pub, which does good food. Take care at Instruction 6 ("walk through the field with the river on the right"), don't keep too close to the river or you (like us) may miss the "awkward footbridge into the next field".
