Dog-friendly pub and easy dog walk near Duxford and the M11, Cambridgeshire
Another very good dog-friendly pub near the M11 and the Imperial War Museum, and a very easy to follow dog walk to the young River Cam to enjoy.

The walk here is in a set of leisure lakes, with good facilities and quite a lot going on. It's also a really easy place to get to, and just a few minutes away from the motorway exit.
This small town is just on the edge of the Forêt d'Orient national park, and as its well away from the more obviously touristic town, the atmosphere here feels incredibly laid back and sleepy.
Definitely worth leaving the autoroute to explore this tiny medieval village, with a couple of very appetising boulangerie / patisserie, a deer park and enticingly dozey atmosphere.
This walk starts at a small, and impeccably maintained, memorial to Canadian soldiers from WW1 and then follows a forest path where dogs are able to run off lead.
Lovely walk along the River Isere on the 15km cycle path between Bourg Saint Maurice and Aime in the Tarentaise valley. In summer, stop off at one of the riverside cafes along the way.
Magnificent motorway services, with spotless facilities and a fantastic choice of woodland trails.
This is one of our favourite stops - with a fabulous forest off-lead walk for the dog, and then just a few miles down the road there's a village with an excellent restaurant and an old abbey to admire...
