Easy walking amongst the trees. In hot weather the shady paths are a real boon to overheated hounds.
Good flat track on old railway line, then public footpaths, bridleways and roadside pavement.following the Yar estuary from Yarmouth to Freshwater old village circular route - 3.8 miles.
Bembridge has the sea on three sides of the town, and dogs are allowed on all the beaches, all through the year. Each beach is different, so you'll find sandy bits, pebbles and rock.
Legend has it that The Folly was founded by the crew of a French smuggling barge that ran aground in the 1700's selling illegal alcohol.
Beach and coastal path walk to Bembridge Ledge and back. The path is signed and easy to follow (just keep the sea to your left!)

Shingle beach that's great for a good off lead run. Good facilities and nice walk along sea wall into Weymouth.
Seaside dog-friendly country dining pub and a circular dog walk with big sea views from the car park. The pub was a smugglers' haunt in the 13th century.
Magical dog-friendly pub with instant access to walks. Just pawfect. Watch out for the squadron of ducks guarding the car park!
Mostly flat walk alongside the Fleet lagoon from Weymouth to Abbotsbury. Several access points from roads along the way. Ferry bridge to Abbotsburry, 10.5 miles. Not good after wet spell.
Lovely easy walk on gravelled paths around a very large country park. Lots of access to the River Lostock running through which the dog loved.
