The village is on the banks of the River Avon between the Cotswolds and the North Wessex Downs. The pub here is very dog-friendly and really convenient for a break from the M4.

There's a circular lakeside walk here, giving 40-50 minutes of comfortable walking well away from the more crowded cafe areas. If time permits, the haunted Hall is worth a look.
